ECOHire Wins Outstanding SME Award

ECOHire Named Outstanding SME at the Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards 2026

We are delighted to announce that ECOHire has been named the Outstanding SME Award winner at the Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards 2026. This achievement represents a landmark moment for our company and is a testament to the dedication of our entire team in building a genuinely sustainable business — one that delivers measurable environmental and social impact across the construction and renewable energy sectors.

The Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards celebrate excellence across Scotland’s renewable energy industry, recognising the organisations and individuals who are shaping the future of clean energy. To have been considered for this award was an honour in itself. To have won it is something we are immensely proud of.

A Journey Built on Purpose

ECOHire was founded in 2021 with a clear mission: to reduce the environmental footprint of construction and renewable energy projects through innovative, solar-powered welfare solutions. In the years since, we have grown rapidly — building one of the UK’s largest renewable welfare fleets, now comprising 296 solar welfare cabins, and expanding our workforce by 30 employees. That growth has not happened by accident. It has been driven by a genuine belief that the construction industry can operate more cleanly, more efficiently, and more inclusively than it has in the past.

In 2025, ECO Hire delivered verified savings of 724,000 litres of fuel and 2,228 tCO2e in avoided emissions. These are not aspirational figures — they are independently verified outcomes that reflect the real-world impact of our solutions across dozens of active project sites. For us, this is what sustainability looks like in practice: not a policy document, but a measurable difference made every single day.

More Than Environmental Impact

Winning the Outstanding SME Award is also recognition of the broader role ECOHire plays in supporting a more inclusive construction sector. Our solar welfare cabins and drying rooms are designed not only to cut fuel use and emissions, but to provide compliant, separate female facilities on site — facilities that many projects have historically lacked.

This matters. Enabling women to work comfortably and safely in welfare environments is a practical step towards a more diverse and sustainable workforce. It supports People First and Women in Wind objectives, and contributes directly to workforce retention across the renewable energy sector. We are proud that our solutions deliver social impact alongside environmental performance, and we believe these two things are inseparable.

Proud to Compete at the Highest Level

Scotland is a global leader in renewable energy, and the standard of competition at these awards reflects that. To be recognised among the outstanding SMEs operating within this ecosystem, where innovation, collaboration and ambition set the benchmark, is humbling. We congratulate all nominees and winners, each of whom is contributing to a supply chain that is genuinely driving the energy transition forward.

This Award Belongs to Our Team

None of this would have been possible without the people who make ECOHire what it is. Every member of our team has played a part in reaching this milestone, from the engineers and operators working on site to the colleagues behind the scenes supporting our clients and developing our fleet. This award is theirs as much as it is the company’s.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our clients and partners. Their trust in ECOHire’s vision, and their willingness to choose a more sustainable approach to welfare on site, has been the foundation of everything we have achieved. Working alongside organisations that share our values makes it possible to push further and faster than we could alone.

Looking Ahead

This recognition motivates us to go further. The construction and renewable energy sectors present unique challenges, but also extraordinary opportunities for the kind of innovation ECOHire was built to deliver. We remain committed to growing our fleet, expanding our impact, and continuing to set the standard for sustainable welfare solutions across the UK.

This award is not just a win for ECOHire. It is a signal that the industry is ready for change, and we intend to keep leading it.

Thank you to the Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards for this incredible recognition, and congratulations to all nominees and winners for their inspiring contributions to Scotland’s green energy future.
